Joel Kryczka BSc.PT.

Joel graduated from UBC School of physiotherapy in 2003. Since that time, he has gone on to do a postgraduate diploma in sports physiotherapy, and became certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. Joel has also been trained in treatment of vertigo related disorders. 
Joel was selected to be a member of the medical staff working at the Vancouver Polyclinic at the 2010 Winter Olympics; only one of two physiotherapists in the Okanagan to have this honor.
Joel has worked with many professional and amateur level athletes including those from the NHL, Pro Wakeboard Tour, National Snowboard Tour, National Ski-Cross team, National U19 Soccer, Okanagan Sun Football team, BC Figure Skating, BC Volleyball, AAA/AAAA Midget Hockey, and the UBCO Volleyball/Basketball teams. He has also worked with various competitive level marathoners, triathletes, climbers and dancers in the Okanagan. 
is interests currently lie in working with various disciplines of the growing sport of mixed martial arts. There are many high level MMA athletes in the Okanagan area, and Joel is excited to work alongside them, working at or towards a professional fighting career.
Joel is actively involved with Sport Med BC as the Okanagan representative for Sport Physiotherapy BC and is also a clinical Instructor for UBC School of Rehabilitation. In his spare time, Joel enjoys kickboxing, jiu jitsu, snowboarding, running, and working out alongside his wife, Colleen.


Marcia Bullock B.Sc.P.T

Marcia Bullock was born and raised in Alberta.  She completed her B.Sc. in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1996.  In 2001 Marcia returned to the U of A to become certified in Medical Acupuncture.


Marcia’s career has been varied but her focus has always been on treating orthopedic injuries and sports injuries in a clinical setting.  Marcia has taken many manual orthopedic courses and is currently level 3 certified.  As well, she has her sport first responder certification.
Marcia has spent many years working on the sidelines of a large variety of sports.  She has worked with college and university volleyball, hockey, wrestling and rugby teams.  Marcia has been involved with rugby for 15 years as both a physiotherapist and player.  She was a national team physiotherapist in 1997-98.  She has also volunteered for and been involved in the organization of sporting events including the World track and field games in 2001, World Senior Games in 2004, World Firefighter Games, and a variety of local sports events.  
Marcia and her husband Chuck have 2 daughters ages 7 and 5. The girls enjoy skiing, skating, swimming and lots of barbies.  Marcia stays active working out, playing hockey, playing soccer and the occasional round of golf.  Life is busy but fun.

Rory Switzer R.M.T.

Massage Therapist


Rory has been a massage therapist since 1997. He graduated from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in Vernon and has worked in Kelowna ever since. Sports massage is a major focus in his practice. His work experience includes working with athletes at Ironman Canada, treating members of the Canadian Freestyle Team, as well as being massage therapist for many elite athletes here in Kelowna, including Okanagan Sun football and NHL hockey players.
Rory is an elite athlete himself and has represented British Columbia at the National Cross Country Championships in Toronto. In 2003-2004, he was ranked 7th in Canada for his 5km races and 10th in Canada for his 10km races. He has been named "Runner of the Year" six times by the Kelowna Running Club and in 2009 he was named “Runner of the Year” for the Interior Race Association. He has won many local races from 5km to marathon distances (42.2km).
Rory is an active member of the Kelowna Running Club. He is currently vice-president of the organization and he strives to promote running, fitness and health in our community. Rory is father to three grown children and step-father to two more! He and his family are active in many sports including running, badminton, and long track speed skating.

Jennifer Podovennikoff

Jennifer is passionate about nutrition, fitness and sport. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Science Integrated Dietetic Internship Program at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. She has also recently completed the two-year I.O.C. Diploma in Sports Nutrition developed by the International Olympic Committee.
Jennifer has experience in many areas of the dietetic profession. This ranges from clinical work in the hospital setting, outpatient counseling with eating disorders and disordered eating, contract work with different organizations for menu development and analysis and group education on heart healthy eating. She also has experience working with individual sport teams (basketball, volleyball, football, soccer, and hockey, lacrosse, curling and swimming), educating athletes on the importance of nutrition and performance as well as providing one-on-one individual consultations for specific nutrition needs (weight loss, weight gain, health eating, living with chronic illness, eating disorders, and heart healthy eating).
Jennifer provides dietary assessments and personal nutrition counseling for individuals and groups, who are looking to improve their nutrition, learn its importance in achieving optimum health and fitness or helping those who are interested in optimizing their sports performance.
The right nutrition improves sports performance and good nutrition makes for a healthy lifestyle. Jennifer can work with you to help you achieve these goals.

Steve Hancock

M.PT., BHKin( Ex.Sc.)

Registered Physiotherapist


Steve graduated with a Master of Physical Therapy degree from UBC in 2009. Prior to this, he worked as a Kinesiologist at a clinic in Vancouver that specialized in rehabilitation for motor vehicle accidents. In 2006, he completed his undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from UBC, with a specialization in Exercise Science. He has worked with numerous athletes while working as an athletic trainer for UBC Athletics and completed a major research project focusing on treatment for Chronic Exertional Compartment Syndrome. He has also worked as a research assistant for Action Schools BC examining physical activity and health in BC children. His interests lie primarily in sports orthopaedics with specific focus on injuries to the knee and shoulder. Steve grew up in Kelowna and attended Mount Boucherie Secondary School. He played rep hockey for Westside Minor Hockey and basketball for MBSS. In his spare time he enjoys playing hockey and golf, as well as, canoeing with his wife and daughter.
